Markus:
Comfortable job.
After five years in a position of responsibility in the Group, I felt very comfortable, but also bored.
My job had become routine, the department was being restructured, I had reached the end of my learning curve in this position – something had to change.
But too little perspective.
However, from my position at the time, there were no really interesting prospects. I didn’t want to go “from the frying pan into the fire”.
I still felt far too young and thirsty for action for early retirement – waiting and sitting it out was out of the question for me.
So what should I do? At the time, I simply didn’t have the clarity I needed to make an informed decision.
Clearly balanced objectives.
In this situation, I turned to Steffen Szameitat from AutomotiveLearners.
Together, we developed a clear and holistic plan over the course of four months.
All contextual factors were put on the table: career, finances, family, health, hobbies, what drives me and what I still want to do in and with my remaining time.
The breakthrough.
After about 6 months, I have a clear perspective and have fulfilled my dream: I am an entrepreneur. I left my old job and am now the founder of an internal start-up in the field of CO2 neutrality.
As an energy system architect, or as one of our pilot customers called it, as an “energy transition planner and implementer”, we support our vehicle and component plants on the way to a future without fossil fuels.
Perspectives, ideas, learning and the joy of work are back!
